The Gilmore Garden (53rd & J St) is an edible and perennial garden growing fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs for the community.
The East Sacramento Preservation Association, in partnership with the Sacramento Unified School District, is forming a volunteer committee to sustain the beautiful El Dorado School Gardens during the two-year transition period. We hope to receive school board approval at their meeting on July 23rd.
Our Goal: To keep the gardens thriving until the site is developed.

Work alongside former school volunteer and Sacramento County UC Master Gardener Anita Clevenger to coordinate tasks and learn new horticultural skills.

Note: No produce or plants will be sold. All excess harvest is shared with the community and the River City Food Bank.

Group Size: Maximum of 12 volunteers per workday.
Children: Kids aged 10 and up are welcome under direct parental/guardian supervision.
Pets: No pets are allowed on the property.
